Gas prices in Union, Missouri today were $2.33 a gallon for regular. Wildwood was still at $2.43 a gallon but hopefully the prices will be falling in Wildwood and other areas surrounding St. Louis.
I know this is good news for me. It was getting to be crazy to fill up my Impala. The bill from an empty tank would be over $50 and nearly $60. Now when I fill up the total is staying at about $35. For my family and others in the area this means more money to spend on food.
It was getting to the point where I felt like I either had to fill up the car or buy groceries. Now I might be able to afford both in one week....
I guess I will find out tomorrow.

Got you beat here in Lawrenceville GA -- today Reg was selling under 2.28 a gal.. think it Will hit 1.99 a gal by Christmas
It's funny that we're now considering $2.50 or so to be low gas prices. That's what $4 gas will do for you if you suffer through it for a while. But don't let the "low" prices lull you into not conserving. We still need to demand more fuel efficient cars and to press the govt. and industry to develop new technologies.
My 17 year old daughter went to fill up the tank and pre-paid $50 assuming the tank would never fill up. When it stopped filling at $37, she thought the gas pump was broken!

Ok, I'll be the Missouri Traveler. Our gas in Columbia, Missouri currently sits at $2.35. We sat at 2.59 while stations in Sedalia, Missouri were around 2.25 last week. For some reason, we always tend to be higher. Must be due to our location on I-70 half way between Kansas City and St. Louis. What a welcome relief!
I was glad to see $2.79 over the weekend here in Las Vegas. Hopefully lower gas prices will also create lower food prices, as it should cost less to transport items to the stores.
My daughter called me today from Corpus Christi, Texas. $1.79!!!! for regular unleaded. Just across the bridge it's $.40 higher.
Who'da thunk?
Don't worry, it won't be down here for long.
.
I heard on The Today Show this morning that in some places it has gone below $2.00 for a gallon of regular!
Eric,
It sounds like it may get under 2.00 by next week. It will be awesome.
Ann
John,
I agree. Getting cars to have better gas mileage is a must! I saw the equivalent of a "speck car" the other day, small, really small, and the owner said it gets 35 mpg. It had no storage space, no trunk and I would hate to be in it in a wreck! My Impala gets 30 mpg....
Everyone needs to ask for this to be done. Car makers need to be responsible as do drivers!
Ann
Ann,
I can see where she might think that!
Thanks for stopping by,
Ann
Jennifer,
Those are awesome prices! Much better than $4.00 a gallon.
Thanks for the update,
Ann
John,
I hope you are right about the lower food prices. I could use some savings at the checkout as well as at the pump.
Ann
Mike,
Oh my gosh...can that be true??
Sounds like it is headed in the right direction...YEAH!
Ann
Ann,
This is good news!
Ann
Ann,
This is a really good feeling when you look at your savings. Gosh this is a strange comment when we were complaing about the price when it was going up.
Hi Ann, Great to hear that prices are low and hopefully still coming down. It was getting so expensive to fill up. Thanks for sharing the info and have a great hump day!
Don,
The price always goes up MUCH faster than it comes back down! That way we have plenty of time to complain about it! ;-)
I like the savings! However, I spent the money I saved on gasoline at the grocery store. :-(
Ann
Sandy,
Thank you for stopping by to comment. I am happy it will not be over $100 to fill up my husband's truck.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Ann
Today we have gone down to 2.19 here in Columbia. Too bad we think of that as a great deal! We seem to be more expensive then other areas, so I would be interested to see what they are like around the state? Has anyone gone down under 2.00?
Jennifer,
I saw 2.08 in Union on Friday. I have not heard of any in Missouri under 2.00 YET!
