2008 Oktoberfest:
Weekends in October in Hermann, Missouri
The wonderfully friendly people of gorgeous Hermann, Missouri celebrate their German heritage all year long, but every weekend in October they celebrate with a special gusto. On average, thousands of visitors travel to this small town to listen to pollka music, taste the traditional foods and sample local wines.
Oktoberfest events are held throughout the town, however, most people head to two largest wineries, Hermannhof and Stone Hill. Stone Hill, an award winning winery, sits on a hilltop overlooking Hermann. It is the best place to have some wine and enjoy the beautiful fall colors. The Hermannhof Winery is a bit "wilder" so take a trip there to see some lively crowds feasting on sauerkraut, tasty brats and other traditional German foods.
Take time to enjoy the fall season because before you know it, winter will be here!

I am sure Hermann rocks and at least you guys hav an Oktoberfest.....but I am DYING to plan a trip to Munich and visit a real Oktoberfest. It is one of my top 10 travel goals!
Yummy....sounds like lots of good food, wine and just good fun. If you go, be sure to take some pictures for us to see.
Ann,
I have never been to Hermann and it sounds like I need to make the trip.
Hi Ann, We had our local Octoberfest here last weekend, but our schedule was so busy, we weren't able to go. My girls were disappointed. So, I think we'll try to make it to the local church Fall Festival. Thanks for sharing I hope that you're able to go, so you can have a little bit of fun!
Ann,
An Oktoberfest celebration would not be the same without a stein of some great German Lagers! Make sure and visit The Tin Mill Brewing Company, right downtown in the thick of things. All of our beers are made with the finest imported barley malt and hops. And yes the Dimpled, glass mugs we all recognize from the German beer halls are available for sale and filling!

Rebecca,
I hope you get to go soon. Life is too short to put it off until later.
Ann
Ann,
I hope to be able to go at least for a little while. I deserve a day off...
I need a vacation from life. I will take pics if I get to go.
Ann
Don,
Yes, you need to make the trip. It is not too far away. The drive from St. Charles county would be grand with the leaves changing colors.
Ann
Hey Sandy,
Sorry you missed the Oktobefest in your area. The fall festival should be fun too.
Ann
Don,
Thank you for letting me know about the Tin Mill Brewing Company. It sounds like a place I need to write a post about. Do you have a website? What business do you own in Wildwood? That is where my office is.
Thank you for stopping by,
Ann
