Here is an alert for everyone! It is time for the Cold and Flu season to begin. Be on the lookout for people with runny noses, not to mention those experiencing coughing fits. The bug knows no age limits or boundaries.
I have already been bitten by the bug this year. I thought it was too early for this but low and behold, I was ill for nearly a week. I am almost never sick but I found myself stuck in bed unable to even check my emails. Somehow I did manage to pull myself out of the fog after about 12 hours.
SO here is a reminder on how to handle yourself this season and hopefully escape the sickness....
WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY! (with soap and water or hand sanitizer at the least).
Use Lysol or some other germ killer to help curtail the onslaught of critters.
And for the good of everyone, if you are sick stay home, get some rest, drink lots of fluids and get well!
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. We will all sleep better at night knowing we have put the bug to rest.

Realtors, keep some anti bacterial soap/hand sanitizers in your car. Those door knobs can be lethal! Your buyers may appreciate your thoughtfulness!
A small emergency basket with sanitizer, kleenex and bottled water fits easily in your trunk, The water doesn't have to be cold, if someone needs to swallow a pill,it will work just fine at luke warm temperature. Put it right next to your flash light!
Ann, today was my first day back at the office since last Monday! I woke up on Tuesday feeling like a truck ran over my head and went back to bed to wake up at 11AM - so not me! I figured, okay - I'll deal with it today and get back to work tomorrow. . .NOT! I was home every single day last week! I went online a little. Looked at the stuff I needed to do around the house with no energy to do anything. It felt so good to be back at the office today. I feel almost like I lost a week out of my life. :-/
I've heard a lot of people (whole families) have been stricken in my area - my son was as well, but he handled his much better. Must be that young blood! ;-)
Hi Ann;
Thank you for the reminder, we all need to be prepare for the coming season.
Thanks for reminding me. Sometimes we can forget the simple things of not getting sick.
Ann, this is great advice. I thank you for the reminder about the flu shot. I need to get going on that. Thanks a bunch,
Later in the rain~Deb
I wrote a blog about those at high risk, and flu shot clinics in Denver. Check it out. "Tell the Flu to bug off".
I don't remember the last time I was that sick, and I hope I never feel that way again. Glad you are feeling better!
Those with the best immune systems usually avoid these bugs. Learn more at the Better Health Group!
Thank you for this! Good to stay home, too, rather than spread the "germ".
Thanks for the reminder. I should start washing my hands more, especially when I am in the office. I hate being sick!
Don't bring your cold or flu germs to me, I DON'T WANT THEM. Thank you ma'am for the friendly reminder.
Ann...
I already seem to be getting a little 'bug" of some kind, so this is timely advice!
Hi Ann - I am usually pretty lucky about not getting sick, but I do make sure I wash my hands and I try to be cautious. I have never ever had a flu shot! That spider is yuk! And BIG!
Char and Jim,
That is a great idea. I usually have all those things in the car but not necessarily in one place.
Ann
Sandy,
I am so happy you are feeling better. And I understand completely losing a week due to this.
Stay well,
Ann
Anthony,
Prepared... I now am with the bleach bottle in hand to clean all surfaces touched by others...
;-)
Ann
Terri,
You are welcome for the reminder. I know i forget. I am going to Keep reminding everyone to wash their hands and stay home when ill.
Stay well,
Ann
Deb,
Flu shot....YIKES! I have an allergy to needles.
;-)
Ann
Amanda,
Thanks for stopping by. I will check out the post. I do not live in Denver but the bug knows no boundaries.
Ann
Gregory,
I will check out the group. The last time I was sick was 6 years ago and I do remember all too well! This was not as bad but close.
Thank you for the well wishes. I am usually the one taking care of everyone else. I would rather be the care taker. I am a bad patient.
Stay well,
Ann
Li,
I wish more people would stay home when they are sick. Maybe then the bug would die....
Ann
Carol,
It would also be a good idea to wipe the phone and the desk area. The bug is strong.... ;-)
Ann
Don,
I would never bring a bug to anyone intentionally.
Stay well,
Ann
Richard,
Take care of yourself. It is a mean one!
Ann
Hey Ann,
Awww... you did not like the spider. He was on my driveway the other day. I like him about as much as I liked being ill. I have never had a flu shot either. Sometimes they miss with the strain they grow.
Ann
I always say that I never get sick. I got sick last year for the first time in 11 years of marriage. I'm going into this season as strong as ever.
Ooow that bug looks creepy! I hope I can stay away from the flu... wash hands, drink juice, yada yada yada.....
April
Larry,
Are you saying your spouse finally made you sick???
;-)
Ann
April,
Yada yada.... Stay well!
Ann
I am just now recovering from whatever got me in two weeks ago - allergies and a cold combined, lovely... stay well yourself Ann!
Karen,
I am happy you are feeling better! The bug this year is a fierce one.
Thank you for your comment,
Ann
Ann, This is a great post and good reminder. Hopefully, this cold/flu season won't be as harsh as last year.
Gary,
Stay well. I think this bug is a bad one.....
