Missouri Drivers... New State Law See Attached PHOTO

State Law:  Headlights on when windshield wipers are required.

Since we have been inundated with rain for the past month, wake up Missouri.  This law is a good one.  It may save your life because other drivers are having a difficult time seeing you in the rain.

Hmm, interesting.  I saw that same thing in New York on a recent trip there.  Ya gotta wonder when there "has to be" a law on common sense!

Ann, It's the law here too. It's just common sense. It's hard to see and be seen when it's raining.  I'm sure this law could prevent some accidents.

Driving back tonight from Tan Tar A i came up behind a truck towing a trailer and it was raining very hard.  Guess what.......The truck did not have its lights on and it was getting dark too.

Erby,

I have to agree.  If you do not have your lights on and you get into a wreck, I would imagine it is your fault..

We have had this in GA for some years and it's a great law!

Richard,

I know it is a great law but I think the police need to enforce it as a preventative measure....;-)

Ann, this is a good law, I don't live in Missouri, but I often see cars driving at dusk when it is very difficult to see.  Too many people forget that headlights serve two purposes to see and to be seen.  I like this idea.

Ann,  Some people just don't get it.

Just plain common sense would do them same as a law if people you use their brains..  As always some will ans some won't law or no law..

Tony and Darcy,

Yes, I think people need to be reminded!

Hi Ann, that is a very good law!  I have day time driving lights- so my headlights are always on.  Still if it's inclement weather, I turn "the lights" on - so I have tail lights too.  It is so much safer!

Ann I had not heard of any laws like this before, but it does not surprise me that someone would come up with it.

This has been a law here for years.  Most of the newer cars have daytime running lights so with or without rain most cars have their lights on all the time.  It is definitely a much needed law for safety.

I don't know.  People who don't have common sense don't usually follow the law anyway.

Kinda like "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!

Mary,

I have my lights on all the time.  I will have to check the tail lights and see if they go on also.  I am cautious when it is raining....

Debra,

You would think common sense would tell a person they need the lights on...
