Hi Ann, Love that...I think it is the columbine flower.
Gorgeous. Columbine is one of my favorites because it is so unusual/striking.
Debbie,
Thank you for stopping by... I think you may be correct.
Ann
Debi,
Thank you for the confirmation on the name. I love this flower...
Ann
I love flowers in general. This flower comes in lots of different colors. They all look good to me. I believe this is Colorado's state flower... ~ Kim
Ann: The splendor of nature is a joy to behold. Thank you!!
Ann - It is columbine and a pretty flower. It is a perennial meaning they come back year after year.
It is gorgeous. I love the colors.
Ann, that is a gorgeous flower, I couldn't begin to help you with the name of it, but it is a pretty flower.
Very nice. It didn't take very long to establish what flower it is! Don't you love this place?
Ann, I don't think I've ever seen a flower like that. And it looks to be growing in the wild as well.
Ann where do you come up with all these beautiful flowers? They are gorgeous.
They are not nameless, they are the state flower of Colorado the Columbine. They come in many colors and combinations of colors: Red, purple, yellow, pink, red/white, blue/white, red/yellow and more. They are hardy and do well in many climates, and they re-seed every year so you get more flowers each year. They are my favorite flower!!
I had some of these I purchased at a nursery. I believe mine were white, or yellow and white. Very unique flower.
Beautiful Columbine! My mom has ton's of them. Every year when they bloom I say I am goinfg to take some and replant, but still haven't done it!!
Ann, You have the prettiest flowers there. And what's so interesting is that in the pictures you take, often times they are surrounded by dead underbrush. The contrast is beautiful.
Now that I know what it is and how pretty it is I may have to go out and buy some.
Kim,
I did not know this was CO state flower. I will have to look that up.
Thank you,
Ann
Matt,
Thank you, I agree with you!
Ann

Dig them up and plant them. ;-)
Ann
Sandy,
Most of the time we have mulch or dead hay around the plants. It saves on the weeding time...;-)

Or find someone who is willing to let you dig a few...
