Ann,
Nice picture. It sure is good to see some spring color in your pictures. :)
Steve
Hi Ann, the Indian Paint Brush grows wild here -- but not in abundance. I'm always happy to see their bright colors in the Summer. Very Nice photo. Thanks for the glimpse of things to come!
Steve,
Why thank you! I am happy the grass is getting green...
Ann
Hey Mary,
Summer? We have lots of these here.. So you are welcome.
Ann
Ann - lovely photo. We're not from your area ... do you know why it's called "Indian Paint Brush"?
Amy: I have never know the real name of that gorgeous flower. I have seen it somewhere... but I cannot remember where. Do you know if it grows in Texas. I am so used to seeing all the Bluebonnets in Texas... that they kind of push everything else out of my mind's eye. Thanks for sharing...
By the way... I really like the color combinations in your blog header above. Really pretty !
Hi Ann, that's pretty.....not something you see around here. Hope you have a nice weekend! :)
Beautiful and inspiring Ann....thanks
Bo
Ann I never saw those before. Are they wild flowers, or are they flowers in your yard?
Hi Ann, Those are really interesting. I can't say that I have seen those kinds of flowers. Thanks for sharing.
Fran and Rowena,
It comes from an old legend. I read it to my children a while back. It is the story of an Indian boy named Little Gopher. An elder tells him he will not be a warrior like the others but he will be remembered for a different reason. He learns to paint and becomes know as He-Who-Brought-the-Sunset-to-the-Earth. It is a great children's book by Tomie dePaola called: The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush.
Have a great day,
Ann
Karen,
Yes, they do grow in Texas...
Ann
Karen,
Thank you for the compliment...my daughter has a green thumb and that would be a picture of her rose...
Ann
Ann,
I am sorry you do not have these...they are very pretty.
Hope your weekend is going well,
Ann
Hi Bo,
Thank you for stopping by!
Ann
Hi George,
These flowers are wildflowers. I wish they grew in my yard. They grow on the prairie behind my house.
Ann
Sandy,
I do not think they grow near you.... I love them. The color is so vibrant.
You need to read the story. Your girls are a little old for it but it is a good one.
Ann
